Two days from now I’ll be roughly 9,000 miles, four months or one Jumbo Jet from home, depending on how you look at it.

Not that I’m anywhere lose to grasping the distance away I’ll be (in any measure), but I keep trying. So far, this trip is still a hypothetical, abstract idea.

However unreal, it’s happening. It’s time to stop thinking about the deadlines, paperwork and jumbled itinerary I’ve produced over the past few months and start preparing myself for the reality of Sydney, Australia. It’s an incredible feeling to have something you’ve been building towards for so long to come to life.
My personal list of things to do in the few hours remaining is long and random. (Among them is devising a plan to sneak Beck onto the plane.) A few of those things are further along than others.
Thank you for all of the hospitality and kind words, I was able to enjoy every moment of this last week.
I look forward to your advice (and care packages) and I hope that I can share this trip with everyone back home.
Hooroo, friends.

Here you'll find a fine overview of my personal experiences living in Sydney for the coming months. From culture shock to school work to the weekends, I'll keep a regular journal right here on your new homepage.
Good luck! Sydney is awesome…and it will be an incredible experience!
